Your Android Phone Will be Able to Detect If Your Phone Has Been Snatched or Theft

Google I/O 2024: A new feature is going to come in the smartphone, through which if someone steals your phone, it will be easy to catch him. After the update in Android phone, such a feature is going to come, in which if someone snatches your phone and runs away, then your phone will lock automatically. The name of this special feature is ‘Theft Detection Lock’, which was introduced by Google in the recently held developer conference (Google I/O 2024).

No mercy for phone thieves

In the last few years, the incidents of phone theft have been increasing a lot. In most cases of bike or car theft, the police catch both the thief and the goods, but in case of phone theft, most of the times neither the phone nor the thief is found. Along with the phone, your data is also lost. In such a situation, it used to be very difficult to catch the thief, but now after Google’s new feature, this task has become easy. After this feature is activated in the phone, if your phone is stolen, then the thief will be caught.

The name of this feature, as we told earlier, is Theft Detection Lock. The special thing is that this feature will also be seen in older Android versions i.e. Android 12, 13 and 14. Let us know how it works.

How will the new feature work?

Google has developed this feature on the basis of Motion Sensor, like if someone snatches your phone from your hand in a jiffy or picks it up from the table then this feature will automatically lock the phone screen. Not only this, if someone tries to turn off the internet then also the phone will get locked because the first attempt of the thief is to turn off the internet of the phone so that the phone does not get tracked by Google’s Find My Device feature.

Now the phone will be easily tracked because the thief will not be able to turn off the phone. Along with this, Google has also launched many new privacy features like ‘Private Spaces’ where users will be able to keep their data more secure by putting a password on some apps, along with this, PIN will have to be used while resetting the phone, while sharing the screen, now personal information like OTP will not be visible on the screen.
